The FAFCO XM external melt ice tank is suitable for installations with a cooling requirement from 0.5°C
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
FAFCO Ice bank “ICEBAT” acts like a battery that can be charged and discharged as required
LOAD MODE
To load the system, glycoled water at negative temperature is passed through the heat exchangers
Ice forms around the heat exchanger tubes
UNLOAD MODE
To unload, the chilled water at a positive temperature passes around the heat exchangers
It recovers the cold released by melting ice. Water from melting ice is therefore used as the refrigerant
